It is estimated that 1 in 3 American adults and 14% of Chaffee County residents are pre-diabetic but don’t know it. Having pre-diabetes increases your risk for heart disease, stroke, blindness, amputation and kidney failure. The free, evidence-based Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) is designed to prevent or reverse type 2 diabetes. It consists of 16 weekly classes, followed by monthly check-in classes, and personal coaching by a trained DPP Lifestyle Coach. Call CCPH at 539-4510 for more information and to sign up.
