About

The Crisis Regional Assessment Center (RAC) is a place where people, regardless of where they
live in Colorado, who are experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis can find help. We
will work with an individual and members of their support system to determine immediate needs and connect them to the right services.

What’s Considered a Crisis?
Crisis looks and feels different for everyone—so if you find yourself struggling with any mental
health, substance use, or emotional challenge, Solvista Health is here for you. When you call us
or the Colorado Statewide Crisis Line, whether for yourself or on behalf of someone else, a trained professional will help determine which crisis
services may be most helpful. Solvista offers a broad range of services, including mobile crisis
response, respite, and crisis stabilization at our RAC. Simply call and we’ll get you connected to care.

What Services are Available at the RAC?

Crisis Living Room
The Crisis Living Room is a calm and safe place where people who ar experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis can receive support any time. Services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It is specifically designed to help individuals de-escalate, collect thoughts and develop a plan for returning safely home. The Living Room is staffed by our team of Peer
Specialists who tap their own lived experience and professional training to help others struggling with mental health or addiction. Together, the patient and clinicians will review the options available and determine a plan. This may include developing a safety plan and getting connected to ongoing community-based care, or they may decide a stay at the Acute Treatment
Unit, Withdrawal Management Unit or a higher level of care is the best option.

Withdrawal Management Unit (WMU)
The WMU is a safe and dignifying place to stay overnight under the oversight of professional staff to monitor and support an individual going through detoxification or withdrawal from alcohol or other substances. Our staff is caring and nonjudgmental, providing services and guidance to help individuals navigate the road to recovery. All individuals receiving care at
the WMU work together with staff to determine the best treatment plan for addressing their substance use issue. It is a safe place to start or continue a person’s recovery journey.

Accessing Services

• Referrals
Individuals can be referred to the RAC from their behavioral health or healthcare provider, a hospital, emergency services or law enforcement.
• Walk In
Individuals can come directly to the RAC, regardless of where they live in Colorado, and ask for services. A staff member will discuss options and develop a customized plan for treatment.
This could include de-escalating in our Crisis Living Room or a stay at either the Withdrawal Management Unit or Acute Treatment Unit. If there is a better setting for care, the RAC Team can facilitate finding the best treatment, for example intensive substance use inpatient treatment or inpatient psychiatric hospitalization. Whatever treatment is needed, the RAC Team will help find the best option.
• Accompanied to the RAC
An individual may be transported by law enforcement or emergency medical services directly to the RAC. Once there, staff will discuss service options with the individual and determine the best treatment plan.
