About

Chaffee County Public Health offers free testing for elevated lead levels in the blood for children and adults who are at risk. Blood lead testing is important for children because even low levels of lead can harm brain development, behavior, and learning. Since lead exposure often has no obvious symptoms, testing is the only way to know if a child has been exposed. Early detection allows families and health providers to remove the source of exposure and prevent long-term health effects.

This is a quick finger prick and results are available within a few minutes.
