About

Founded in 2009, the Chaffee County Breastfeeding Coalition (CCBC) is a volunteer organization of nurses, public health officials, midwives, mental health providers, lactation counselors, and parents who have helped 96% of Chaffee County infants initiate breastfeeding. The coalition’s mission is to protect, promote, and support breast milk feeding through advocacy, collaboration, education, and resources, always striving for inclusivity. CCBC works closely with partners such as Chaffee County Public Health, Early Head Start, Nurse Family Partnership, and WIC to support families and reach communities with historically low breastfeeding rates.

The coalition typically meets on the 2nd Wednesday of odd months at the Touber Building from 12:30–2:00 p.m., and new attendees, including children, are always welcome. Volunteers are encouraged to join, share ideas, and help develop new projects to support breastfeeding families in Chaffee County.
