When a call with a mental or behavioral health component comes in, our Co-Response Team (made up of a deputy and mental health clinicians) responds on scene together. The clinician offers real-time crisis assessment, de-escalation, and linkage to care, while the deputy ensures scene safety and support. In many cases, individuals receive the help they need without entering the criminal justice system or going to the emergency department. The co-response team also includes a case manager who provides on going assistance and resource connection to reduce ongoing stressors and repeat cycles of crisis. Individuals may request a clinician to respond to scene for any behavioral health needs involving law enforcement.
