About

Through our three core programs—The Journey (one-on-one mentorship), The Warrior Summit (small group gatherings for veterans), and the Mustang Rescue Project (rescuing and training wild mustangs for therapeutic use in our programs)—we provide healing, purpose, and community to those who have sacrificed in service to others.

Mountains Move primarily serves U.S. military veterans who are struggling with the emotional, relational, and spiritual aftereffects of service—particularly those facing depression, PTSD, moral injury, or loss of purpose after leaving the military. Participants come from diverse backgrounds and branches of service–including officers, enlisted, and reserve–but share a common desire for restoration, healing, and direction.
Through six-day intensive retreats in the beauty of the Arkansas River Valley, veterans are paired with a seasoned mentor and outdoor guide who walk alongside them in a personal, relational, and faith-centered journey. Activities such as mustang training demonstrations, trail rides, jeeping, hiking, camping, and solo reflection days foster both physical challenge and spiritual renewal. Each experience is tailored to the individual’s needs, providing time and space to process trauma, strengthen faith in Jesus Christ, and set goals for the future.

The outcomes are profound. Attendees leave Mountains Move with:
    •    Renewed hope and strengthened faith.
    •    A clearer sense of identity and purpose for their life.
    •    Tools for emotional resilience, healing, and spiritual growth.
    •    Ongoing mentorship and community support beyond the program.

We have witnessed men and women who arrived burdened by trauma, isolation, and suicidal ideation leave with restored joy, peace, and purpose.
Mountains Move’s approach fills a critical gap in veteran support by addressing not only mental and emotional well-being but also spiritual wholeness. By restoring connection—to God, to others, and to themselves—our veterans are empowered to live transformed lives, equipped to lead their families, and strengthened to serve their communities once again.
