Ashley Ottmer, your county VSO, is dedicated to supporting veterans, service members, and their families by helping them navigate the benefits and services they have earned. Our office provides personalized assistance with VA claims, disability compensation, pension applications, survivor benefits, education programs, and other federal, state, and local resources. We advocate on behalf of veterans, ensuring they receive clear guidance, accurate information, and compassionate support throughout the claims and appeals process. Our goal is to empower every veteran with the tools, knowledge, and representation they need to access the care and benefits they deserve.
In addition to benefits assistance, our Transportation Coordinator;Jan Wilson runs the transportation program designed to help veterans get to and from VA healthcare or authorized community care appointments. This service provides reliable, no-cost or low-cost transportation for eligible veterans who may face challenges with travel due to distance, medical conditions, or limited mobility. Rides are scheduled in advance and operated by volunteers who are committed to ensuring safe and timely travel. By offering this essential transportation support, the veteran service office helps veterans maintain consistent access to medical care, enhances their overall well-being, and reduces barriers to receiving the treatment they need.
Together, the Veteran Service Office and Transportation Program work to honor the service of our veterans by delivering accessible, high-quality assistance that promotes health, stability, and independence.
