Living in a small community can come with challenges, which can include fewer resources and resource organizations than in a larger area. However, Chaffee County is unique in that there are so many local resources available to the community. But how do you find out about them, especially when information is not online, or it seems that many resources are spread via word of mouth?
Chaffee County Public Health (CCPH) recognized this gap in our community, and in 2018 along with healthcare leaders from the Chaffee County Health Coalition, acknowledged the need to create a central place to obtain current and accurate information regarding health and wellness resources. In a collaborative effort, the Chaffee Resources website (which you are on if you are reading this blog!) was created to serve as the one stop hub for all resources and services related to health and wellness. The website has been and will continue to be managed by CCPH, and it has recently been revamped to better accommodate the community.
This update was initiated to better serve the community, and the enhanced website now provides an even more comprehensive and user-friendly directory of local businesses, organizations, and resources that elevate health and wellness in the county.
Key Features of the New Chaffee Resources Website:
- Comprehensive Directory: The website offers an extensive list of local businesses, organizations, and resources, providing a one-stop hub for community members seeking information and services. Users can easily search and navigate through various categories to find what they need.
- User-Friendly Interface: With an intuitive design and enhanced navigation, the revamped site strives to ensure a seamless experience for all users. Whether accessing from a computer, tablet, or smartphone, visitors will find the information they need quickly and efficiently.
- Dynamic Content: The directory is continuously updated, allowing businesses and organizations to add and update their listings at any time. This ensures that the community has access to the most current information available.
- “What the Health” Blog: The monthly blog provides valuable insights into health-related topics, tips for maintaining wellness, and updates on public health initiatives within Chaffee County. Each post is crafted by health professionals, offering reliable and timely information to the community.
Community members, local businesses, and organizations are encouraged to peruse the new Chaffee Resources website to explore the directory, read the latest blog posts, and add or update their listings-a key component to the success of Chaffee Resources is local businesses and organizations being invested in the website and adding or updating their resource, as that is the only way for the website to remain up to date. Update your listing today! To pick up posters, stickers, or other advertising materials for yourself others, stop by CCPH and ask to speak with Abigail.
In addition to providing community health resources online via the Chaffee Resources website, CCPH is excited to continue to offer Behavioral Health (which includes mental health and substance misuse) Navigation services. There are currently two Behavioral Health Navigators on staff with CCPH, whose role includes helping individuals find the right fit for their behavioral health needs, as well as helping to understand the system within which these resources exist. Often people can feel overwhelmed by the complexity of finding the right care for their needs, and the Behavioral Health Navigators can greatly assist with lessening the burden of this process. To contact the navigators for questions, or to get connected for services, call CCPH at 719-539-4510, or fill out this online referral form which includes other CCPH programs as well.
