Founded in 2009, the Chaffee County Breastfeeding Coalition (CCBC) is a volunteer organization comprised of nurses, public health officials, midwives, mental health providers, childbirth educators, La Leche League leaders, nutritionists, physical therapists, lactation counselors, and mothers who have led the way for 96% of Chaffee County infants to initiate breastfeeding. The coalition works closely with Chaffee County Public Health, Early Head Start, Nurse Family Partnership and Women, Infants and Children (WIC) to reach populations which have historically had low breastfeeding rates.
